About Me After completing my student teaching in New York City and graduating with my B.S. in Adolescent Education and Chemistry, I moved to Maine on a whim and I couldn't be happier!
I have been teaching science at OOBHS since 2014 and have spent time aligning the science curriculum to Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) while adopting a proficiency-based approach to teaching. My teaching style emphasizes experiments, collaboration, problem-solving, projects, real-world applications and making learning fun! I am excited and passionate about teaching science to high school students. If there is anything I can do to support your learning, please let me know! I hope that I can share my love of science with you and help you better understand how our world works.
In addition to teaching, I am also the Science Department Head, advisor of the National Honor Society and involved in the NEASC accreditation process. I am a member of the National Science Teacher Association and attend STEM Collaboratives through The University of Maine. When I am not living at the high school, I like to eat, cook, read, go to the beach, hike, travel and spend time with friends.
